Learning Objectives
- The students have advanced
knowledge on plant mechanisms for acquisition and use of mineral
nutrients under diverse environmental conditions
- The students are
able to distinguish and explain limitations of plant growth by mineral
elements or other environmental factors
- The students can suggest
options to minimise nutrient-related plant growth problems in adapted
agricultural systems under diverse environmental conditions
Contents
-Mineral nutrient cycles in soil/plant systems under different
environmental conditions (climate, soil, agricultural production
systems)
- Nutrient limitation under different site conditions and plant adaptation mechanisms (uptake and use efficiency)
-Effect
of changing environmental conditions (temperature, rainfall, changes in
the atmosphere) on plant nutrient uptake and growth
-Photosynthesis and plant nutrition
-Microorganism contribution to plant nutrition under different conditions
