The aim of this lecture will be to make the student acquainted with fundamental concepts and the theory of quantum fluctuation-induced phenomena. This topic is located at the intersection of different fields of physics, including quantum mechanics, statistical physics, quantum electrodynamics and photonics as well condensed matter theory.
The course consists of two sessions every week. The lectures are accompanied by tutorials where the solutions of the problem sets, questions and additional concepts regarding the content of the lecture are discussed.
The class requires a good knowledge of the mathematical tools as well as of the topics approached during the study of a bachelor in physics. Particularly important are electrodynamics and quantum mechanics.
