Introduction to British Cultural Studies and Theory (WiSe 2023/24)

This course will provide an introduction to the basics of Cultural Studies: concepts of culture, models of cultural exchange, ways of ‘reading’ culture and cultural artefacts, concepts of history and of cultural memory. Topics such as identity, power, representation, gender, sexuality, affect, embodiment, race and coloniality, will be explored through examples from media and culture.
