FRS courses are designed to give students and understanding of a foreign legal system presented in that country's language.

This course will emphasize developing a broad understanding of the United States of America and its legal system in context. Students will learn the structure of the American legal system, including: the hierarchy and sources of laws; the structure of the U.S. government; the principles of judicial review; a survey of relevant cases and laws; as well as the historical, economic, social, and political background which affects and is affected by legal decisions.

Students will be taught how the legal education system in America works as well, with a strong emphasis on the ability to read and interpret case law via the "case briefing" method. Other assignments will also be provided to further develop legal skills and contextual understanding.

Specific issues in the area of business law will be covered, such as contract law, company formation, and issues in antitrust and labor laws.
