Together with the chair of Urban Anthropology at the HU Berlin and the ongoing Research-Project "Urban Development through Public-Civic Partnerships" (https://www2.hu-berlin.de/pcpmodellprojekte/), this X-Student Research Group will delve into current debates in design and social sciences concerned with the democratization of city-making in order to discuss novel forms of cooperative city development and participation. We aim to experiment with speculative and designerly perspectives on public engagement, specifically at the projects: Haus der Statistik and Rathausblock Kreuzberg in Berlin. As a result we will collectively prototype research devices and test them at a public modelling-workshop together with actors from these two Berlin projects of cooperative city development.
