This lecture series is the point of departure for those in the MA program who take an interest in Southeast Asia. It addresses the theory of the region, its specific characteristics, internal dynamics and interrelations with other world regions set within a long-term historical perspective, ranging from early history to the contemporary age. Since the course is offered in digital format, we will alternate between audio-visual lectures, key text readings and zoom-discussions.
