This course provides an introduction to entrepreneurial finance and venture capital from both a theoretical and an applied perspective. It is particularly suitable for students who consider entrepreneurship as a potential career goal. Upon completion of the course, students will be familiar with the key challenges when pursuing innovative projects and how various forms of financing and governance help address them. During the applied sections, students will learn how to develop business ideas, write a business canvass, and how to pitch your ideas to potential investors. Students will also be familiar with key valuation techniques, and appreciate the success and economic importance of the venture capital industry.
