The course aims to develop reading and listening comprehension through the analysis of contemporary Ukrainian media discourse. It also provides a wide range of materials on the Ukrainian culture, including the new notions/phenomena constructed recently in the media discourse.
At the end of the course, the students can express themselves coherently and are able to present and explain their point of view during a discussion (after reading/listening media text) spontaneously. They can read stylistically complicated essays and newspaper articles and can understand the main ideas of uncomplicated radio and television reports.
