Dieses Forschungsseminar setzt als Ziel ein afrikahistorisches Forschungsprojekt (das ggf. die Masterarbeit werden kann) zu initiieren, auszudenken und zu planen. Von der Themenfindung und Problemstellung über Fragestellung und Quellen- und Methodenfindung, hinzu Forschungsstand und konkrete Planung setzen wir gemeinsam Forschungsprojekte auf. Eine klar abgegrenzte Forschungsfrage wird anhand von primären Quellen untersucht. Ziel ist nicht nur zu einem eigenen Forschungsprojekt zu kommen, sondern auch um sich in die sämtlichen Forschungsprojekte der Kommiliton:innen einzudenken und mitzudenken. Zwischenzeitliche Textbausteine, Präsentationen, Beteiligung an Diskussionen und eine Hausarbeit mit vorläufigen Ergebnissen oder Hypothesen werden erwartet.
Ziele:
- die Studierenden lernen unter Begleitung individuell zu forschen;
- die Studierenden unterstützen sich gegenseitig in ihren jeweiligen Forschungsprojekten.

The aim of this research seminar is to initiate, think up and plan an African history research project (which may become the Master's thesis). We will work together to set up research projects, starting from the identification of the topic and the problem, to the formulation of the question and the identification of sources and methods, to the current state of research and concrete planning. A clearly defined research question using primary sources will be investigated. The aim is not only to come up with one's own research project, but also to get involved in all the research projects of fellow students and to think along with them. Textual building blocks, presentations, participation in discussions and a term paper with preliminary results or hypotheses are expected.
Targets:
- the students know how to set up a research project;
- the students can think along and support the research projects of others.
