This course uses short texts from various areas in linguistics to investigate historical change, sociolinguistic variation and literary effects through linguistic devices. Students are familiarized with linguistic terminology and expand their general academic vocabulary. Language exercises are combined with short writing assignments. Credits on the basis of course work (portfolio).
