Probabilistic machine learning is an active field of research that studies machine learning approaches (comprising deep learning) from a probabilistic standpoint. In a nutshell, unknown quantities are treated as random variables backed with probability distributions. Our goal is for students to gain an excellent theoretical understanding of the most current approaches and to study how practical they are in applications related to credit risks, marketing, economics, and other domains.
