A survey course of American (U.S.) business law with a focus on contract law and company/corporate law along with an overview of other topics within the field (e.g. taxes and government regulation, intellectual property, employment law, litigation and abritration, antitrust and M&A, finance, etc.). The goal of the course is to provide students (1) with a foundational understanding of the American legal system in context (including improvement of business/legal English), (2) theoretical understanding of the topics covered in class, and (3) practice with real-life legal projects such as contract review and drafting legal advice.
