This advanced laboratory practical will teach students the necessary steps in fabricating and characterising opto-electronic devices based on organic/inorganic hybrid materials. The students will become familiar with solution-processing and vacuum deposition techniques to fabricate a complete device in a bottom-up approach. They will gain an understanding of the evaporation of thin film materials and the function and characterisation of each layer (thickness, absorption, transmittance, energy levels). The students will analyse the final devices using a range of electrical and optical characterisation techniques, including current density/voltage/luminance as well as emission characterisation.

The course will be take place through 2/3 days.
