Students get to know theoretical approaches to American Culture. In this class, students are invited to discuss the question of how 'culture' can be defined and what significance it has. They get to know major concepts of exploring cultural texts, events, and discourses and apply them. They know the problematics of representation and discourse, memory, race and whiteness, gender and sex, class and popular culture.
