The Einstein Fellows Research Group at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin,
funded by the program "Wissenschaftsfreiheit" by Einstein Foundation
Berlin, includes scholars with a background on critical thinking in
academia. The research areas of the group are twofold: ‘Authoritarianism
and Democratic Decline’ and ‘Forced Migration and Diasporas’. The
scholars are affiliated with the Berlin Institute for Empirical Research
on Migration and Integration (BIM) and the Institute of Social Sciences
(ISW) and the Integrative Research Institute for Law and Society (LSI).
The Lecture Series adopts an inter- and multi-disciplinary approach to
better understand the current debates on authoritarianism and migration
studies in Turkey and beyond. Through a focus on politics, mobility and
activism, the Series urges to bring different approaches in theory and
praxis into conversation.
