Preconditions
Generally, the course requires knowledge of basic microeconomic theory. Examples of terms with which the participants should be familiar are: marginal cost, marginal revenue, profit maximization and constrained optimization
Learning results
After completion of the module, students:
- understand the model structure, and the characteristics that distinguish CAPRI from other models,
- understand in some depth one of the core parts of CAPRI,
- understand the main underlying data,
- are able to use the Graphical User Interface (GUI),
- are able to critically analyze CAPRI results,
- are able to modify scenarios, construct simple scenarios from scratch and more complex scenarios by combining basic scenario files,
- understand coding practices used in CAPRI.
Course organization
I: Self Study: Self-study tutorial using CAPRI STAR 2.6.:
- Model installation
- Basic model understanding
- Graphical user interface
- This part should be completed off-campus, before the lecture starts
II: An intensive 5-day: Lecture & Computer exercises (20.9.-24.9.2021)
- The course will provide literature and hands-on exercises for theoretical knowledge about the model
- analyzing results and modifying and simulating scenarios.
- Readings and sessions will be individualized to the participant’s interest and competence.
