Medical informatics is a specialized field of computing that looks at
the use of technology to improve healthcare. It covers data and
information management, computer-based and mobile-based health systems.
Successful use of technology in healthcare requires understanding users
and careful management of health information. This seminar will cover a
wide range of concepts such as privacy, security, usability,
implementation, adaptation and the impact of health related systems on
communities in both developed and developing countries.
The
seminar will feature oral presentations. Various topics will be proposed
to the participants and they will be required to choose one topic,
research and give a presentation about it. A written report on the
chosen topic will also be requested.
Oral presentations and written reports may be delivered either in German or English.
The
seminar will take place on 2-3 days depending on the number of
participants towards the end of the semester. The exact data will be set
